On 25.12.09 The Department of Anaesthesiology of Govt .Kilpauk Medical College Hospital has organized and conducted PRE CONFERENCE LIVE WORKSHOP as part of National conference ISACON-2009 On Ultrasound Guided Peripheral Nerve Blocks At Tauma O.T of Govt.Kilpauk Medical College &Hospital and was relayed LIVE to the conference venue at Hotel Breeze from 8.00A.M to 6.00P.M including hands on workshop ON USG machines both on Live volunteer demonstration and Phantom training at six work ststions.

An inaugural function was held at Hotel Breeze,and the workshop was inaugurated by The Dean, Dr.V.Kanagasabai,M.D in the presence o f all the HOD’s of this College. A manual on On Ultrasound Guided Peripheral Nerve Blocks and C.D containing live procedures were released and distributed to all Delegates.

This programme was attended by 150 delegates from all over india and was appreciated by all delegates.

The Faculty members Dr. Ganesh Gopalakrshnan M.D,FRCA, Consultant AnaesthetistHull and East Yorkshire NHSTrust, , Dr. Jayshree Thind M.D, FRCA,Consultant AnaesthetistHull and East Yorkshire NHS Trust, from U.K who are regularly conducting similar course had shared their experiences .The workshop was conducted by Prof.P.S.Shanmugam,M.D,D.A, Prof.M.Vasanthi,M.D, D.A, DNB and Prof.S.Gunasekaran, M.D,D.A,DNB of KMC.

PREPP-2010 (Practical Examination Preparation Programme)

This is a unique programme conducted every year in the last week of January for the past 4 years exclusively for the Post Graduates of Anaesthesiology including DNB candidates from all over Tamilnadu post graduate Medical colleges (both private and Govt) . Senior Professors of Anaesthesiology from various institutions in Tamilnadu were actively participated as Examiners. An inaugural function was conducted at 11A.M and the progarmme was Inaugurated by Our Special invitee Dr.Mayil Vahanan Natarajan,M.S(ortho),Mch(ortho),PhD, D.Sc,FRCS(Eng),FRCS(Liverpool) ,The Vice Chancellor and our Dean HAS RELEASED C.D containing probable questions and relavant answers This year it was conducted at Hotel Savera,Chennai-14 on 31.01.2010,Apart from interesting ECG,and X-Rays discussion,12 different cases were allocated randomly to participants P.G’S and the Examiners were are also randomly allotted to the students and the students were examined as per the guidelines. The rest of P.G’S were listening and had interaction at the end of each sessions. About 300 students were attended the progaramme

Cardio Pulmonary and Cerebral Resuscitation Workshop

Cardio Pulmonary and Cerebral Resuscitation Workshop were conducted to all CRRI’s and Post Graduates of this college in 20nos of batches for a period of each 6 hours duration in the month of July-August-2009 held at MicroAuditorium by Prof.P.SShanmugam,M.D,D.A, and ProfS.Gunasekaran,M.D,D.A,DNB of KMC.
